1. Who is Bhanu Choudhrie?
Bhanu Choudhrie is a British entrepreneur and investor. In 2002 he founded C&C Alpha Group, a London-based private investment group, where he remains a director (UK Companies House, company 04590298). His work spans investments in healthcare, hospitality, aviation and financial services, and he is the founder and a director of Jupiter Advisers (UK Companies House, company 15561263) which also has presence in Dubai under Jupiter Investments Enterprises Limited (DIFC registration 2975).
2. Has Bhanu Choudhrie been charged with or convicted of any criminal offence?
No. Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie has never been charged with, prosecuted for, or convicted of any criminal offence in any jurisdiction. Where his name has appeared in investigations, public registers or journalistic databases, no court or regulator has made any adverse finding against him personally.
3. Was Bhanu Choudhrie charged by the Serious Fraud Office in the Rolls-Royce investigation?
No. Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie was released without charge in 2014 following a wide investigation by the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) into Rolls-Royce, and his bail was lifted that year. There was no charge and no finding of wrongdoing against him. On 22 February 2019 the SFO closed its investigation into individuals and decided not to bring any prosecution.
The 2017 deferred prosecution agreement in this matter (the roughly £497m settlement) was an agreement with Rolls-Royce the company, not with Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie (SFO statement, 22 February 2019).
4. What is the CBI First Information Report (FIR) that names Bhanu Choudhrie?
In May 2023, India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a First Information Report (FIR) concerning a defence aircraft contract from 2003 to 2012. Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie is among the parties named in that FIR.
A First Information Report is the registration of a matter for investigation. It is not a charge, an indictment, or a finding of guilt. As matters stand, no charge sheet has been filed, no court has framed any charge, and no court has made any finding against Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie. The allegations are unproven and untested, and the presumption of innocence applies. The Choudhrie family has consistently maintained that it acted as no one’s agent and paid no improper sums.
5. How is Bhanu Choudhrie’s own legal record separate from his family’s business history?
Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie comes from a prominent British-Indian business family. Some older reporting concerns his father and other family members and their business dealings. Those matters belong to them and are separate from Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie’s own position: he has no criminal conviction and no regulatory finding against him in any jurisdiction.
A separate private matter is currently before the DIFC Courts in Dubai (case CFI 098/2025), concerning the governance of a family-associated foundation (the Stellar International Art Foundation). Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie is the party who brought the proceedings. It is a civil dispute among family members and involves no criminal, regulatory, sanctions or financial-misconduct allegation against him.
6. What are Jupiter Advisors and Jupiter Investments?
Jupiter is Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie’s private investment business. He owns and controls Jupiter Advisers Limited (Companies House 15561263), his London investment office, and the business also operates from the Dubai International Financial Centre as Jupiter Investments Enterprises (DIFC registration 2975). Both are led by Mr. Choudhrie as founder.
Two unrelated businesses share the “Jupiter” name and should not be confused with his: Jupiter Wealth Advisors Limited (a separate regulated Dubai firm) and Jupiter Asset Management / Jupiter Fund Management plc (a London-listed fund manager). Neither has any connection to Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie or to C&C Alpha.
7. How can you verify Bhanu Choudhrie’s regulatory and corporate standing?
Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie’s principal companies are on the public registers and open to inspection: C&C Alpha Group Limited (Companies House 04590298), Jupiter Advisers Limited (Companies House 15561263), and Jupiter Investments Enterprises Limited (DIFC registration 2975).
A search of the consolidated sanctions lists maintained by the United States (OFAC), the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United Nations returns no entry for Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie, as at 24 July 2026.
